The 1st hole is a challenging uphill 365 yard par 4 with a water hazard on the left and running across the fairway 100 yards from the white tees. A good first shot from the white tees would be straight away 210 yards leaving an uphill 146 yard approach shot. Take an extra club or two for the approach and keep the ball to the left side of the green as it slopes to the right.

The 5th hole is the second par 5 in a row and a bit more challenging than the first, especially from the green and red tees. Watch out for the water hazard on the right at about 220 yards from the white tees. The green has 2 well placed sand bunkers on either side that should prove to be a challenge to most golfers. The green is a 2 level design, so if the ‘blue’ flag is up, then add a little extra to your approach shot.

The 6th hole is the number one handicap hole on the course. It is a dogleg left with a water hazard on the left. A good tee shot of 200+ yards straight away will leave you an approach shot af about 180 yards to the largest green on the course. Be aware of the pin location as it could mean up to a 2 club difference in your shot.

The 7th hole is a relatively easy par 4 for the average golfer. Hit a straight away anywhere from 150 to 200 yards on your drive and then have a 60 to 100 yard approach shot to the green. Your approach shot should be sure to carry the 2 sand traps in front of the green and be careful not to fly over the green as there is another trap awaiting you.

The 8th hole is a very difficult par 4 for the average golfer with a dramatic dogleg right. The best golf shot would include a 200 yard drive straight or slightly right of center, followed by an uphill 150 yard approach shot to the 2 tiered green. Take 2 extra clubs on your approach shot and keep the shot right of the pin. Once on the green, if the pin is on the upper level, it can be very challenging to most golfers.

The 9th hole is a picturesque hole that defines the beautiful landscape of Dutch Elm. It is a downhill 362 yard par 4 with water hazards on both the left and right sides of the fairway. Keep your tee shot 210 yards or less from the white tees, then approach the green with a 160 yard iron, keeping it center or slightly left of the green. From the blue tees, 59 yards back from the whites, make sure to keep your ball to the left in order to avaoid the our of bounds stakes on the right hand side of the fairway.

The 11th hole is a challenging 494 yard par 5 for most any golfer that features a dramatic dogleg right and would be best played with a long drive and then followed with a good second shot around the dogleg right fairway. Take special heed of the water hazard on the left and also straight ahead for the longer hitters.

This hole is the #2 handicap hole on the back nine, and it deserves to be so.

The 13th hole is a dogleg left 347 yard par 4 featuring a formidable tree line on the left and a sand bunker straight out at 210 yards from the white tees. Once mastering a straight away drive of about 190 yards, the average golfer needs a 160 approach shot to land on the green. A perfect drive for a right hander would be a draw around the treeline, leaving a 140 yard approach shot.

The 14th hole looks to be an easy 326 par 4 with a tree lined fairway on both sides. Once avoiding the water hazard off the tee, the average golfer should hit a straight away 210 yard tee shot followed by a 116 yard approach shot to the green. Special care should be taken of the sand bunkers on the left and right front sides of the green and also the back of the green. Better to be short than long on your approach to the green.

The 15th hole is a straight away par 5 where accuracy is a must. A straight tee shot sets up the hole perfectly. A large green is protected by two front bunkers. Most golfers would be happy with a par here. For the longer hitters, it is possible to make the green in 2 with 2 good shots. Don’t be long or right on your approach to the green.

The 17th hole is the second par 3 on the back 9 and is 190 yards uphill from the white tees. The average golfer should take an extra club or two and aim to the left of the green on the approach. This is a 2 level green that slopes back to front and left to right, and if the pin is toward the back of the green, it is a particularly difficult par.
